Case Study: Shipping & Logistics Enterprise

In the following case study, we’ll learn how a full-service shipping and logistics company transformed different parts of its business with Stack AI. The company offers a wide range of services, including freight forwarding (road, air, and sea), project cargo, contract logistics, and much more. The company also has a presence in countries such as China and other major global hubs.

The Opportunity

The Sales team needed a way to quickly research companies to understand if they’re worth pursuing, and formulate a strategy for the approach. Typically, this research process could take several hours, and wasted valuable selling time for the sales team. This is why the company turned to Stack AI.

The Solution

The company wanted to harness the potential of LLMs to quickly research companies identified as sales leads. When salespeople attempted to do this individually, the process was too time-consuming and inconsistent. They needed a way to standardize and deploy LLM capabilities across their workforce.

Stack AI enabled the company to build autonomous AI agents powered by any LLM, using a flexible drag-and-drop builder tool. This allowed non-technical team members who lacked the ability to code to create AI agents using pre-built components.

The company built an AI agent that wrote research findings on companies that the sales team received as leads. Salespeople provided the AI agent with the name of the company, and the country the company resided in. This was fed into Sonar Pro LLM, which used a web search to produce a company profile, including company name, industry, headquarters location, and much more.

The AI agent, once deployed, allowed everyone on the sales team to leverage a pre-configured LLM in a standardized interface. The LLM generated a formatted summary for each company, which the sales team could use to reach out to leads more effectively, and spend less time gathering information. As a result, the sales team was able to close more deals, and drive more revenue for the business.

Along with the use case for the sales team, the company also created other AI agents for additional parts of the business. One of the key use cases included an AI agent that transcribes voice recordings and translates them into a language of the user’s choice. This agent was used by dock workers across the world to interact with speakers of another language. The AI agent receives an audio upload from the user and leverages an audio-to-text converter and translation service.

Another AI agent that the company developed was an IT service desk chat assistant. The chat assistant leveraged the company’s support documentation in Azure blob storage and an instance of GPT-4o to answer user questions. This saved the IT team hundreds of hours and allowed them to serve customers faster.

The Results

With Stack AI, the company was able to change the way a number of its departments operated, in sales, deliveries, and IT.

The power of AI agents to transform many different facets of the business made Stack AI an organization-wide tool, rather than siloed within a specific department. The company continues to develop new use cases with Stack AI and plans on deploying them in departments such as finance, marketing, and logistics.
